	*What tools are available to all members?* Our organization is divided by different terms. The National Headquarters is located in Indianapolis, IN. and is referred to as National. Each state is referred to as Department. Ours is the Department of Illinois. Illinois is divided into 5 divisions. Each division has from 4 to 6 districts in each except the first division which has 9 districts Districts are divided into counties then units. As a member of the Auxiliary, you will receive The National News from National Headquarters. Another publication is the Dispatch. The application for subscription in the November packet that your President gets. The Dispatch keeps us up to date on what legislative issues the American Legion is working on. The best source for information on how your unit works is your Unit President. Your Unit President receives a packet from Department with information on the different programs and contacts to be shared with the Unit. These are kept all year for as a reference tool. Any member can order a opy of the packet by sending a $10.00 check to the American Legion Auxiliary; Department of Illinois; PO Box 1426; Bloomington, IL 61702-1426. They are at each District meeting that the Department Caravan (officers) attend each fall and at the convention in July. If there is something you are working on and need more information, contact Department in Bloomington and they will send you the information. Each member should have a copy of the Constitution an By-Laws, These can be obtained from the caravan at your Fall District Meeting or from Department Headquarters. Your Unit should invite your District President to attend one of your Unit meetings each year. She is a great source for your questions and will go over upcoming events
